Recently a pastor in Ohio was charged for giving shelter to homeless people in the midst of freezing temperatures that were killing people forced to live outdoors. That’s right — A pastor was charged for saving lives. Welcome to modern day America, everyone! Step right up, step right up, and get your moral bankruptcy and abuse for FREE! Ignore the fact that everything right in the world has been stripped from us and instead watch Taylor Swift cheer for a ball thrown in the air! YEE-HAW!
Unfortunately housing the destitute is not the only right and just and perfectly rational thing you can and will be arrested for in the Land of The Free. Our entire country of hypocrisy, lies, and manipulation seems to pride itself on a justice system that imprisons those who do right. If you’re a moral human being, you’re screwed. You might as well just turn yourself in to the police now. You can’t run forever. Just say, “Hello, I’m turning myself in. I want to do right in the world” and the cops will say, “We have a cell waiting for you right here.”
So here’s a brief list of all the just, moral, and/or rational activities that could get you arrested in the US. And this is just off the top of my head — It’s not exhaustive at all (though thinking about how pathetically amoral the country is, does exhaust me).
Americans have recently been arrested or charged for:
